A cross agency working group made up of Te Puni Kōkiri Waikato, Hamilton City Council, Waikato-Tainui, Te Wānanga o Aotearoa, Hamilton Police, The Department of Internal Affairs, and Wintec are co-ordinating the first ‘Hoa Reo, Hoa Hīkoi’ parade on the 13th of September in celebration of Te Wiki o Te Reo Māori.
The theme encapsulates our goal of making Te Reo Māori accessible, and available to all whānau, ahakoa nō wai, ahakoa nō whea.
And a HUGE part of our kaupapa is promoting para kore. We are trying to reduce our carbon footprint at this Kaupapa Māori, making Papatūānuku friendly initiatives more socialized. We want to encourage whānau, participants to bring their own keep cups, reusable containers, beeswax wraps and reusable bags :)
